Trusted by Champions: 24 National Championships Run on Rekortan in 2025

Across continents, a single surface connects the world’s best athletes – Rekortan.

Rekortan is the world’s most installed track, and in 2025, 24 national athletics championships were held on Rekortan tracks, spanning five of World Athletics’ area associations — Oceania, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

From Dunedin, New Zealand to Hong Kong to Kingston, Jamaica to Hengelo in The Netherlands, Rekortan tracks carried the world’s elite through national titles, personal bests, and championship records.

The choice of Rekortan shows the trust that federations, facility owners and athletes have in the brand and its legacy of excellence.

“Rekortan has been building tracks for over 50 years, and they’ve built an amazing reputation for safety, durability, and speed,” says Michael Johnson, Olympic legend.

A Season of Standout Performances

We love track and field, and while there were many incredible performances, here are five defining moments from this year’s national championships:

1 / Jamaica National Championships – Kingston

A meet of sprint fireworks saw Kishane Thompson storm to a 9.75 personal best in the men’s 100m, while Tina Clayton clocked 10.81 for a breakthrough win in the women’s event. Both athletes later went on to claim silver over 100m at the 2025 Tokyo World Championships.

2 / 48th Bangladesh National Athletics Championships – Dhaka

Bangladesh’s premier meet delivered history on Rekortan.

Shirin Akter claimed her 16th national title in the women’s 100m and played her part in Bangladesh Navy’s new national record in the women’s 4×100m relay with 46.43, breaking a 32-year-old mark.

On the men’s side, Nazmul Hossain Ronny shattered a 31-year-old record in the 400m hurdles, clocking 50.84.

3 / New Zealand Championships – Dunedin

15-year-old rising star Sam Ruthe stunned the local crowd by winning the men’s 1500m title at Dunedin’s Caledonian Ground, finishing in a dead heat with Sam Tanner at 3:44.31.

Just 10 days later, Sam became the youngest athlete to run a sub-four-minute mile, with 3:58.35 on a Rekortan Gel track in Auckland.

4 / Championnats de France Élite – Talence

On the newly renovated Rekortan track at Pierre-Paul Bernard Stadium, France’s best athletes competed in one of Europe’s most prestigious meets.

The highlight came from Gabriel Bordier, who shattered the world record in the men’s 10,000 m race walk with 37:23.99. In the women’s event, Clémence Beretta broke her own national record in 42:52.17, while Pauline Stey (42:57.93) and Ana Delahaie (43:15.15) also finished under the previous mark – three French records on the same Rekortan track.

5 / Dutch Championships – Hengelo

At the FBK Stadium, Danish para-athlete Daniel Wagner made history by leaping 6.93m in the men’s T63 long jump, setting a new world record. The performance stood as a powerful symbol of inclusivity and excellence.
